Merck Innovation Centre

The Inspiration Wall is an expansive kinetic installation in the foyer of the Innovation Centre in Darmstadt. The choreography of the installation develops as the physical movement of the monitors and the virtual movement of the images interact. Extending over an almost 18 m long, slightly convex wall, the installation consists of 24 rows of 3 monitors each, which can be individually moved on a vertical axis.

Media technology equipment:

  • 72 pcs. 32″ High brightness LC displays as in customised form
  • High-end PC system with 8x Full-HD synchronous playback
  • Kinetic with 72 pcs. drive elements, slide, motor control etc.
  • CMS server
  • Visitor tracking
  • Brightness sensor to adjust display brightness in relation to ambient brightness
